| Dr. Rakesh S is an Associate Scientist working in the ICRISAT Development Centre (IDC) cluster of the Global Research Program ‘Resilient Farm and Food Systems’ conducting strategic research trials of regenerative agriculture practices across diverse agro-ecologies. He specializes in the field of Soil Science & Agricultural Chemistry. Dr. Rakesh worked as a Research Associate at ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad, from 2019-2023. He also worked as a Senior Research Fellow in the Australian (ACIAR) funding Project “Sustainable & Resilient Farming System Intensification- SRFSI” from 2015-2019. He has received the Best Thesis Award-2019, Young Scientist Award-2021 and the Young Researcher Award-2023. Dr Rakesh is a member of several professional societies and organizations like SEE- Agra, ISCA-Kolkata, COBACAS, IUCN, etc. He has published 40 full-length research articles in reputed international and national journals. He is an Editor of 4 Springer upcoming Books of Nano Science & Carbon Nexus. He is a Reviewer of Peer-Reviewed Journals of Elsevier, Springer, Frontiers, PLoS, MDPI, etc., and also serving as an Editorial Board Member in Resources, Environment & Sustainability-Elsevier. His research expertise: Conservation Agriculture; Carbon sequestration; Carbon Dynamics; Soil Fertility; Integrated Nutrient Management, Land Restoration, and Climate Change Adaptation. |
